Purity in Motivation, Intention and Effort

Today, I meditate on Psalm 3:1-2

As I sit here and contemplate my morning reading, I preview what my day will look like. The focus of the passage is the psalmist’s earthly enemies.

As I ponder the question of “how does that apply to me today”, that still small voice speaks…

We have many earthly ‘enemies’, but our enemies are usually more mundane things like obstacles & challenges. At home it may be our physical limitations like asthma, allergies, out-of-shape or an actual handicap. At work it may be a tough job market, rusty skill set, a lack of confidence or a need for training. I know for myself, professionally I am struggling with learning how to market my business(es) … Click to Continue

FB N Twtr R not gr8 4 communication!

I would like to take this time for a public service announcement…
-_- <…grrrr…>
Facebook and Twitter are NOT conversation/communication tools. It is not a phone call, it is not email, it’s not even a txt (which is also not reliable). This goes TRIPLE for WALL posts.

It is not my monkey if your “important message” is lost in the 300+ (yes, that is a ‘3’ followed by two ‘0’) notifications I receive in a day.

If a message is TRULY important, try a method that is traceable. Email has “read receipts”. You can can get delivery notification on postal mail also. Heck, maybe you should try a PHONE CALL or personal conversation. This is called SOCIAL MEDIA for a reason folks…

I have a REAL WORLD life, we should ALL be unplugged more than plugged. If establishing and keeping relationships are the point and purpose, realize this CANNOT be done in under 150 characters.
-_- <…grrrr…>
Ok, I am done now.. ^_^

May Jesus have His way with your day

Can we lose salvation?

Today’s Conversation Starter:

Is believing in a god enough? Is belief in the God of the Bible enough?

No, belief in a god or even the One True God is not sufficient. Even demons believe in the God of the Bible and they are condemned to Hell. (James 2:19) The Devil knew the Heavenly Father personally and is yet condemned because of his sin. (Ezekiel 28:12-19) .

Jesus was very clear when he told us He was the only way to salvation. (John 14:6). He doesn’t ask for anything complicated. He just wants all you are and have. (Mark 8:34)

What is our mark, our token that tells us we are saved?

Romans 8:16 tells us that the Holy Spirit … Click to Continue

I’m all about names

I like names. They are very important. A name says a lot about a person, a people, an organization…

For a child, a good name (at least for boys) means growing up being teased or being honored. Joseph was a strong name in my family. Joseph was the gifted boy in the book of Genesis who, though sold into captivity by his own family, honored is father by rising up to be a great man in the king’s court and saved his people from famine. (Genesis 37:1-46:34)  My Grandfather was Joseph. He was a great example of a provider, husband and though I am sure growing up in his house was not easy, he was an honorable man who took … Click to Continue
