Caleb Strong Men’s Challenge: Love on your families.

This is my anniversary weekend. I am a blessed man, but I am only blessed because of Jesus’s example and Peter’s challenge to us.
‎1 Peter 3:7 – … husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman …, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered. (ESV)

A gift is not about spending a large amount of money. It is about the consideration and thought that goes into it

A gift is not about spending a large amount of money. It is about the consideration and thought that goes into it.

Over 20 years ago, I met my wife and fell in love. I asked get to marry me back then and she told me to ask again later. It took 15 + years to ask again. She finally said yes. Four years together, and we have faced many challenges and adventures together, including a move across the country.

There is no better partner, no better friend, and no person I would want by my side than her.

If you are a recipient of the blessing of family, then Love on your family, men. Be there and PARTICIPATE  in their lives. Take initiative to teach lessons, make memories and share the Truth found in Jesus Christ. Be active in their experience of this world.  That is how we make great memories, raise amazing children, and build fantastic marriages. Read vs 26 below (Eph 5:26). Christ gave up his life for the church to sanctify her, and cleanse her. To prepare them for heaven. That is how we are to love our wives and families. Sacrificially.  Loving your family sacrificially means to love them with the intent of helping them become what God want them to be.

Ephesians 5:25-27 – …husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word…

There is something to be said for persistence. However, I think there is more to be said for God’s timing. I prayed for my wife and God answered my prayers. His answer was not “Yes” or even “soon”. His answer to me was “Wait”. I know that is foreign to many of us but it is true. His answer was “Wait”. During that time, He prepared us, she and I, for this time together. He prepared us so that we would be able to prepare others and so that we would be ready for our children.

If you are still not connected and desire to be, remember that Our Lord does answer prayer, and sometimes that answer can be, “Wait”.

God Bless you all.

May Jesus have His way with your day
